Shirley was born on July 4, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to the late Wilbur and Rosie Lee Wheatfall-Bynum.
Shirley was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School, class of 1966. She married Dwyane Jackson and moved to Plano in 1969. She worked at Texas Power & Light for 27 years. During that time, she opened Jackson's Homestyle Cooking on 14th Street in Plano. She also opened a dress shop in 1992. Shirley was president of the National Council of Negro Women Plano Chapter for 3 years (1987-1989) She was an active member of the Lincoln Class of 1966 Alumni. Shirley was a foster parent for several children. She would help anyone. She was kind, thoughtful and selfless. She was also fiercely independent. She was a hard worker who loved clothes & shoes. She loved to have fun and making her house a home.
Those left to cherish her memories include: Walter Dwyane Jackson, Husband. Her children, Gregory (Nereyda) Jackson, Niki (William Pierre III) Jackson. Pierre, Nisha(Robert)Weems and Rodney Giles. Her sisters, Wilma Patterson, Rose Banks and Regina Gray. And a host of extended family and friends.
